The MovieBox USB is a hardware and software package that turns a humble home PC into a pretty powerful video editing studio. The Pinnacle Studio MovieBox USB makes me feel like I wasted a whole lot of my time. Years ago I spent months and months in journalism school learning how to run a video editing suite and turn raw clips from a camcorder into a polished visual feature, complete with audio tracks and professional transitions between scenes. Also available for: Windows ME through XP Professional.Reviewed on: A Hewlett-Packard Media Center m380n Photosmart 3 GHz Pentium 4 PC with 1GB of RAM, twin DVD drives, 7-way media reader, a 120GB IDE and a Maxtor 250GB SATA hard drive (both running at 7200 RPM), HP F1703 and KDS Rad-7c LCD panels, a 128MB NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200 video card, and Windows XP Media Center Edition. The Verdict: If you've got home movies to edit, this is a well-integrated hardware and software package that makes the job easy and has everything you need to import your content, massage it and send the finished product to disc or tape. The Bad: Experienced some crashes on a Pentium 4 3.06 GHz PC when hyperthreading was enabled.Porsche, fabulous software that makes importing and editing video and audio a snap. The Good: Cool video input/output box designed by F.A.
